Wednesday 30th December- walk *** - Landguard circuit – sunny periods and cold.

In a spell of really cold weather, we had a good frost this morning so sadly windsurfing is out of the question so it was should we go out for a walk or a bike ride? Spent the morning watching the birds in the back garden while doing my exercises before we had some fun with our new kittens. We are nervous of letting them outside so we bought a couple of cat harnesses and after rounding them up we tried them on, they were not impressed and soon wriggled out of them, sadly we got a size too big. Good old Amazon soon agreed a refund and we will send them back, the jury is still out as if we get a smaller size? Then after visiting an old friend, chatting through a closed window we drive to The Manor to park and do our Landguard Nature Reserve walk. There was a nice sky with brief glimpses of sunshine but very cold. Felixstowe docks was busy with container ships and sadly the view point carpark had lots of litter, several large pizza boxes just chucked out of car windows, what is wrong with sad people who waste their money on take aways and can’t be bothered to take their rubbish home, just plain stupid:( We continue along the River Orwell as the sun sets over Harwich and back through the reserve to the van. Home for a warming cuppa and cake, the kittens didn’t hold a grudge over the harnesses and were pleased to see us:)
